The latest comment on this pub:
Winters is one of the nicest and clean pubs I know. Yes there are some that drink too much but when you consider the price of the ail and the exceptional taste it's no surprise. I need to also say that whilst there are many who drink too much the atmosphere in Winters is great and not a moron in sight. No food bad language and no Germans at the moment. As for calling the place is a stinking dump" I don't know what it was like in the past but it seems to me to be a great shame these pub guides are not updated frequently enough.
This place looks a bit dirty and full of old school drunks but there is a great range of Holts beer on tap and in bottles.
The upstairs is in this pub sports an exceptionally large clock mechanism. The food is also pretty good. However, at the street level, the place is a stinking dump. The customers are most often moronic old men or chavs. Needless to say, the language is colourful. Thankfully, there is a mad German woman who works there to allievate the pain of dregs.

One factor that many other pubguides do not consider is the area where a pub is based. This can be of the utmost importance. Therefore, we have taken the opportunity to interpret the latest Indices of Deprivation, issued in December 2007. As this public house is located in Brinnington and Central ward, we inform you that an overall interpretation of the statistics for this area is that the ward appears to be exceptionally deprived. This evaluation may be broken down as follows: The employment situation might be exceptionally impaired. Health is exceptionally needing. The educational stance is exceptionally wanting. Moreover, the environment itself is outstandingly poor. Housing seems to be fairly positive. One might interpret the situation on reported crime as exceptionally absent. Meanwhile, income appears to be exceptionally unfortunate. On another note, the postal area is fairly commercial.
